During this appointment, Dr. Smyth will review your concerns and work with you to develop a tailored evaluation to answer your questions.
Intake Appointment
This appointment will focus on completing the actual testing portion of the evaluation. Dr. Smyth will use the information collected from these tests to help figure out areas of strength and challenges you may be facing.
Length of time depends on type of evaluation. Estimated time can be between 1.5 and 7 hours total.
Evaluation
Dr. Smyth meets with you to review all of the data collected during your testing appointment. She reviews patterns and helps you understand how the testing applies to everyday activities. She also answers any questions you may have. After the feedback appointment, you'll receive a copy of the report through your patient portal.

Frequently Asked Questions
The value and benefit in investing in an NPE includes better understanding your or your child's strengths and weaknesses when it comes to thinking, more diagnostic clarity, and tailored treatment recommendations to help you moving forward. Getting one done now also means we are able to track any changes that occur over time.
Our job is to make you or your child feel as comfortable as possible. For comprehensive services (e.g., learning disorder work ups, complex medical cases), we recommended blocking out a full day for testing services. We give breaks as needed, and also provide you with a lunch break should your testing need to go past noon.
Results will be given to you at your feedback session, which will be scheduled within 2 weeks of your testing appointment. During this appointment, Dr. Smyth turns numbers into behaviors and helps you understand what scores mean and how you or your child performed. She highlights strengths and challenges, and also provides recommendations to help guide you as you move forward. A copy of the report will be provided to you after the feedback appointment.
To ensure full privacy (in compliance with HIPAA), we encourage you to give our office a call, or to send us a message through the patient portal.
Not at all! Just arrive as you are. The testing we do is meant to get a better understanding of your strengths and areas that are challenging for you.
We are considered an out-of-network provider, but can provide you with a "superbill" or an itemized invoice after each session and a detailed statement of fees you can use to obtain reimbursement. Please contact us if you have any questions about our fees.
